Kendall Fording

Kendall is a Research Assistant for the PREDiCTOR lab and a first-year Clinical Psychology master’s student at Teachers College, Columbia University. She also currently serves as the Associate Communications Editor for the Graduate Student Journal of Psychology. Kendall graduated summa cum laude from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2025 with a B.S. in Psychology. During her time at UNC-Charlotte she served as an Undergraduate Research Assistant for Charlotte Teachers Institute, researching the effectiveness of site-based professional development for public school teachers. She also worked as a Teaching Assistant for Dr. Jordan Lyerly’s Brain and Behavior course, helping teach the biological basis of human behavior. In addition, Kendall gained experience as a Legal Assistant Intern for the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Office, working in the Felony Crimes and Violent Crimes teams. During her internship, she had the opportunity to present at the North Carolina Conference of District Attorneys as a Legal Assistant Intern.

Kendall’s research interests lie at the intersection of community and clinical psychology. She is particularly interested in the ways environmental contexts shape the emergence and persistence of intrusion and avoidance symptoms after experiencing a traumatic event. In the near future, Kendall plans to pursue a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology.
